Accommodation
Description
The Chicken Coop is a fantastic glamping pod situated on the side of a lake with its own private, wood-fired hot tub. Guests can also benefit from free entry to the farm park and a discount at the on-site farm shop which stocks local produce. It's the perfect getaway for families and couples.
The luxury glamping pod provides a bright and comfortable accommodation with two bedrooms and open-plan kitchen/dining/living space. There's a private shower room inside the pod. The master bedroom has a double bed whilst the second bedroom has two singles. There is a double sofabed in the living room.
Guests will love sitting in the hot tub and soaking up the lake and countryside views whilst the BBQ is perfect for cooking on in the warm summer evenings.
The on-site farm park means kids and adults alike can enjoy meeting the alpacas, lambs, pigs and other farm animals. Free entry is provided to guests staying at the pod. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.
The Chicken Coop is set in the quiet oasis of the farm but is handily only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Hertford and the A10, which means easy access to the local shops and pubs. There's a number of things for guests to do in and around Hertford such as a trip to Hertford Castle where the grounds and gardens are open to the public and ideal for a picnic. There are plenty of walking trails nearby such as the Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail which follows a five mile route through the towns and countryside of Hertford, Ware and Great Amwell, in Hertfordshire.

Pros: Free access to the farm park was an added touch for the kids, especially as you could visit out of hours - had it to ourselves! Cream tea provided, fruit basket, bread and milk! Nice burger shack on site, 5 mins from local amenities outside thesee more
Pros: Free access to the farm park was an added touch for the kids, especially as you could visit out of hours - had it to ourselves! Cream tea provided, fruit basket, bread and milk! Nice burger shack on site, 5 mins from local amenities outside the Farm and the hosts were welcoming and not invasive. Only three huts on site, so nice and private. Onsite farm shop, tea room etc all well stocked! All in all, a lovely get away!

There is not much to improve on at all - my only two minor observations are 1) a set of bbq tongs would be helpful as you do provide a bbq and 2) the quality of the coffee provided in the pod is awful. So either please provide good quality coffee in see more
There is not much to improve on at all - my only two minor observations are 1) a set of bbq tongs would be helpful as you do provide a bbq and 2) the quality of the coffee provided in the pod is awful. So either please provide good quality coffee in the pod in sachets to keep it fresh - or, stock decent instant coffee powder in the shop for purchase. Otherwise, pretty much faultless!
