Description
Situated within Dartmoor National Park, Brook Lodge is a unique and spacious lodge ideal for guests who wish to relax and unwind. Surrounded by a beautiful 12-acre ancient woodland, complete with a stream and an abundance of wildlife, Brook Lodge is perfectly placed for guests to explore the scenic countryside for which Dartmoor National Park is renowned.
The front door leads into the large open plan lodge with exposed beams, wooden floors and high ceilings. The large hallway leads into the well-equipped kitchen/diner which has all the amenities you will need for your stay. Steps from the hall lead down to a comfortable living room with two sets of French doors that open up to a seating area with wonderful views of the woodland and surrounding countryside. Also on the ground floor is a single bedroom with an en-suite shower room and the main bathroom with shower over bath. Winding stairs lead to a cosy mezzanine bedroom with sloping ceiling and a king-sized bed.
Because of the stream in the garden, Brook Lodge is not suitable for children although babes in arms are very welcome.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead as there are other dogs on the premises but also, we have an abundance of wildlife that we are keen to protect their welfare.
Brook Lodge also has its own private parking for one car.
Due to the rural location of the property, access to Wi-Fi and phone reception may be limited at times.
Dartmoor National Park, with its wild open moorland and woodlands, is perfect for those who enjoy adventure and outdoor pursuits including walking, horse riding and rock climbing. Two golf courses are located nearby. Dartmoor is also famous for its superb walks, reservoirs, heather-clad moors, tors, Dartmoor ponies and cream teas! Local walks will take you along a bridle path up to Mardon Down, to the riverside walk at Steps Bridge or along lanes to explore the local countryside.
Easy access to Dartmoor (8 miles), the cathedral city of Exeter (10 miles) and the Jurassic Devon coastline (14 miles). Shops and pubs 2 miles (Dunsford) and 4 miles (Moretonhampstead).
We are unable to accept consecutive bookings, and stays longer than two weeks at this home.

Wonderfully quiet and directly in nature. If you are lucky then the deer are eating right in front of the terrace. A bit of the inhabited world, fine by car, but to walk just a bit too far. Also nicely welcomed and helped by Pam and Alison. Nice houssee more

Incredible location and very friendly hosts. Lots to do within a 30 min drive in either direction. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away and explore Dartmour. 10/10!

This is a real hidden gem! A great place, beautiful garden, perfect house with lovely little details like the small stained glass windows. 2 badrooms and toilets, (1 room en suite), what else do you need. Lovely hosts . We even felt a little sorry we had to leave and could not stay longer because of our pets at home. Next year we will back for 2 weeks to enjoy the garden, peace and quite and small villages in de surroundings. I could go on and on about the lodge, the brook, the garden it's just more then perfect! Thanks - K & E
