Description
The Pods provide the ideal glamping experience for those wanting a slice of the countryside and a back-to-nature staycation but still with all the amenities of a warm bed, kitchen and shower. The views across the valley from the front of The Pods are stunning - guests will love a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine sat out on the patio taking in the country air and far-reaching views.
Sleeping four people in two bedrooms, The Pods are also the ideal location for families and couples to explore the Fosse Way and the Somerset countryside from. The Roman city of Bath and the seaside towns of Western Super Mare and Burnham on Sea are also only a short drive away.
The main pod consists of a double bedroom, small lounge, kitchenette and shower room. The kitchenette has a microwave, portable stove top, toaster, kettle and fridge so guests can still cook up a meal if staying in. Wi-Fi is available in the main pod and included during your stay, plus access to a washing machine, ironing board and iron through a private entrance into the downstairs cloakroom of the farmhouse.
The second bedroom - the twin - is located in a separate pod, located approx 15 meters away and separated by a path through the trees. It's the perfect solution for children wanting to escape the parents and feel like they're having their own adventure (or is that parents wanting to escape from the kids!) Please note, as the second bedroom pod is a short walk from the main pod, parents should be confident that their children (and they!) will be happy to sleep separately and will enjoy the seclusion of an independent sleeping area.
During the winter months, we have converted the outdoor porch of the main pod into an upgraded, insulated dining area equipped with a table and chairs, comfortably accommodating four guests. This addition provides a weatherproof social space, complete with a fully glazed external door to allow you to fully enjoy the surrounding views. Updated photos arriving in Spring 2024.
Off-street parking is provided a few meters away from the pods. Please note that the pods are in the curtilage of the owner's country farmhouse.
There are a few pubs within 2 miles of The Pods and the nearest supermarket is only a 3 mile drive. We can offer home cooked meals, as a supplement organised directly with the owner after booking.

The pods itself was not only super clean from top to bottom but also the coziest place. The kitchen was very well equipped! On top of all that, there were barbecue facilities outdoor which made our stay perfect. There is also a well equipped laundry room with an ironing board, which we were allowed to use. I would recommend the Pods to anyone who want to have a great relaxing escape near the fabulous city of Bath.

Ideally located we were able to do many visits nearby and what a corner of paradise! We saw deer and hares every evening and had a visit from a pheasant and a squirrel. Sophia was very welcoming. She had provided a delicious breakfast basket and as isee more

She had provided a delicious breakfast basket and as it was very hot she had also provided ice creams for our children. She even installed a swimming pool for them which was very much appreciated!

I was not quite sure what to expect, as pods were a new thing for us. Chosen mainly for being a convenient location for our stay, and because something different appealed, the pods turned out to be an excellent choice. Quite small but not too small, see more

Quite small but not too small, and very cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed. Everything was very clean, with lovely decor, nicely equipped kitchenette, and a good sized modern bathroom. Very friendly owner who made a point of being there to welcome us and show us around. Nice outside area with seating, a nice view over the fields, and BBQ facilities, although the weather - autumn gales and rain for much of out time - wasn't conducive to taking full advantage! Overall, a super place for a peaceful break in the countryside, conveniently close to places such as Bath.

I would suggest that people pull the blind down on the front door at night as the outside light shines through if not. I didn’t take any pictures but it looks as described on the photos shown on this website.

I would have liked a door to the bedroom but that is being extremely picky. It would have to be a sliding door for size purposes so I see why there isn’t one. See point above about the blind on the front door. The light outside comes on with a sensorsee more

I had originally left this up for those in the sleeping pod in case they needed to go to the loo in the night.

Thank you for the feedback. Just to let you know the owners have purchased a gazebo and set it up in a sheltered wooded glade less than 20 metres from the pods. Here guests can sit outside together, protected from the elements. There is alsee more

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the pods. Well-appointed kitchen, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed and lovely views over local farmland: it is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle. They are really well located, close to some great walks and fabulous pubs and only about 20 mins from Bath. There was real attention to detail from table cloths with clips to stop them flapping in the breeze, seat cushions for the outside table, a portable clothes line for those emergency washing moments, BBQ coals to get us going, to a welcome pack of quality tea, coffee, milk, bread and homemade jam. Sophia and Richard were really welcoming as well and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Pods are lovely, comfortable and very clean. Views amazing. The location was brilliant for us, having family close by. Sophia was the perfect host, friendly, and approachable, but not pushy. We would love to come back sometime.

Staying at the pods was a very special experience. We went there with our kids after being in London and immediately became calm and felt like we can breath. There is wonderful space around farm like, and even a small forest with forest sounds (and squirls and rabbits) and the place inside is small but cozy and everything function and we could cook dinners and stay inside if it rains. The place is close to many towns and cities we wanted to visit, so it was just perfect for us. Sophia was helpful and help if we needed anything, but mostly, gave us privacy.

We enjoyed our stay in the pods. Nice and peaceful and surrounded by fields. My kids especially liked spotting the wildlife. We saw deer, squirrels and hares during our short stay. Our lovely host was very helpful.

Really enjoyed our stay at the place. Got a little cupcake treat when we checked in. The host was really great, they made us feel right at home and were really helpful and responsive 🫶🏽. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
